Feed & Expansion Tanks
Feed and Expansion Tank Explained
The feed and expansion tank tends to be located in the loft and as the name suggests is designed to top up the central heating system with cold water as well as providing somewhere for the hot water to go in the event that your system overheats. It plays a key role in open vented systems and can reduce the likelihood of pressure damage caused to the system.
Our high temperature feed and expansion tanks are designed to be used with open vented systems, especially when combined with additional fuel sources such as wood burning stoves, where overheating can become a real issue. The copper feed and expansion tanks can cope with potentially high temperatures that could reach as high as 100°C.
