McDonald Engineers Shortlisted for Award

McDonald Engineers is aiming to add another title to its name after it was announced the company has reached the final of the Fife Business Awards.

The awards recognise Fife companies who have shown outstanding performance in their area and have helped to drive forward the local economy.

McDonald Engineers’ efforts have already been recognised this year with employee Graham Smyth scooping the Hammermen Award for his work in launching the STEELflow stainless steel unvented cylinder.

Electric Wet Systems Supplied For A Sheltered Housing Scheme

McDonald Engineers has secured the contract to supply over 20 of its ELECTRAflow Electric Wet Thermal Stores for the refurbishment of a sheltered housing scheme.

The company secured the contract after working closely with the design team to understand the challenges they were facing and developed a bespoke solution which was tailored to their exact requirements.

McDonald Engineers proposed an electrical thermal store solution which featured a smaller capacity than the existing cylinders to suit the number of occupants and the tariff.

Major Order Secured for Rectangular Hot Water Tanks

How to Prevent Legionella in Hot Water Cylinders

Legionella remains relatively uncommon in the UK, however when incidents do occur, the finger of blame is often pointed at bacteria in stored water. The risk of bacteria developing within a storage device will be largely dependent on 4 key factors

The call out was made all the more pleasurable by the fact that the product in question were not for hot water but rather copper stills for distilling whisky - offering the perfect opportunity to sample an inaugural 3 year old single malt.

McDonald Engineers has yet another happy customer after supplying Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in Wales with two 1500 Litre Horizontal Buffer Vessels.

The 4 metre long vessels were supplied by McDonald Engineers within a very quick turnaround time despite the order being a bespoke specification.
