With all plumbers and installers having a legal obligation to complete this course every 5 years, McDonald Engineers is softening the blow a little by offering £75 worth of vouchers which can be redeemed against future purchases of its ECOflow and POWERflow cylinders.

McDonald Engineers Increases Minimum Specification for Its Thermal Stores

McDonald Engineers has once again reinforced its position as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of copper hot water cylinders by increasing the specification of its standard Thermal Stores to deliver maximum performance. The move comes following extensive trials with its market leading THERMflow Thermal Store, over the last 12 months where the company measured the response from clients and the effect on performance. The THERMflow is now manufactured from a minimum of 1mm thick copper and features an extended length secondary coil for all units.

CIPHE President Adds Support to McDonald Engineers’ Copper Campaign

McDonald Engineers campaign to promote the use of copper hot water cylinders has been welcomed by the president of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering at a recent visit to the Fife company.

CIPHE President, Allan McIntosh, was visiting McDonald Engineers in his official capacity, where he was able to see first-hand how the copper cylinders were manufactured and understand the benefits copper cylinders have to offer.


McDonald Engineers See Rise in Demand for Back Boilers

McDonald Engineers has reported an increase in demand in its copper back boilers as a result in the growth in wood burning stove market and the tendency  of restoring and installing the original coal fireplace in the UK’s homes. Coal and wood are becoming a cost effective solution for helping heat properties.  There has been a significant increase in not only fireplaces but also solid fuel stoves, which can also be linked to McDonald Engineers THERMflow Thermal Storage unit to provide hot water and heating.

McDonald Serve Up Perfect Solution for Major Brewery

McDonald Engineers has demonstrated its expertise in developing bespoke solutions by designing and manufacturing a new system for one of Scotland’s largest brewers who were experiencing the problem of intermittent hot water. Working in conjunction with one of the maintenance contractors onsite, one of McDonald Engineers’ technical sales team visited the site and identified the issue. The hot water, being supplied to the toilets via 3 cylinders, was being heated by steam through a heating coil.

Frankie and Bennys Turn to McDonald Engineers

McDonald Engineers has manufactured and supplied a replacement 550ltr POWERflow for Frankie and Bennys’ Glasgow Quay restaurant. The company’s reputation for quality and service paid off following problems with the previous hot water cylinder supplier, which saw no fewer than three leaking cylinders being rejected before the contractor turned to the POWERflow unvented cylinder.

McDonald Engineers Sponsor Porsche Carrera Cup Team

McDonald Engineers is adding its support to another team famed for its engineering and speed by sponsoring Rory Butcher who drives for Scottish Sports car team, Celtic Speed, in the Porsche Carrera cup. The manufacturer of copper cylinders has signed the deal that will see them become one of Rory’s sponsors throughout the forthcoming 2011 season, as he competes in 20 races in the major support championship to the British Touring Cars.
