Hot Water Cylinder News
McDonald Engineers has unveiled its “nothing hotter than copper campaign” to promote the advantages available from using copper cylinders in comparison to other materials such as stainless steel. As part of the campaign, McDonald Engineers, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of copper hot water cylinders, has produced a report which highlights the superior performance offered by copper cylinders.
McDonald Engineers were delighted to welcome a team from one of the UK’s leading plumbers merchants, who were treated to a full factory tour and product development presentation.
The factory tours are not only a great way to develop product knowledge, from the latest Heat Pump Cylinder technology to Calorifiers and Thermal Stores, they also allow customers the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the production process and the quality standards that are put in place.
McDonald Engineers is providing its customers with even greater value by giving all attendees of its BPEC Certified Unvented Training Courses £75 worth of vouchers which can be redeemed against future purchases of its POWERflow and ECOflow cylinders. The company has teamed up with approved BPEC Assessment Centre, 1st Class Gas, to deliver the specialist course on Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems which plumbers and installers must complete every 5 years.
McDonald Engineers have launched a new brochure to support the changing market demands of market leading thermal store, THERMflow. Thermal stores are becoming an increasingly popular solution for hot water cylinders, not only because of its ability to deliver mains pressure hot water with limited maintenance implications, but also its ability to handle multi-fuel and renewable energy installations.
McDonald Engineers has secured a number of contracts for its range of high temperature, primary feed and expansion tanks. These are used with open vented systems and thermal stores, especially when combined with additional fuel sources such as wood burning stoves.
McDonald Engineers has assisted one local authority to improve their renewable energy capabilities by supplying one of their solar hot water cylinders to the training facility. With growing pressures on Local Authorities and Housing Associations to improve the energy efficiencies of their housing stock, many are now looking at how they can capitalise on renewable energy sources.
Proving that McDonald Engineers provide their clients with more than just high quality hot water systems, the copper cylinder manufacturer is already looking forward to enjoying a happy new year with several major specification successes.
McDonald Engineers is ensuring that rig workers are kept squeaky clean by supplying 5 x 1000 Litre Calorifiers to two separate oil rigs in the North Sea. Designed to work at high incoming pressures, with a quick recovery provided by multiple Immersion Heaters, the Calorifiers will provide the water for the showering and kitchen facilities.
